Activity - Manufacturing

A fetish for perfection and high standards prompted Ayushakti to establish its own modern herbal factory at Palghar, a two-hour suburb of Mumbai. For the past 18 years, Dr. Smita Naram and her team have overseen quality control of all the Ayushakti herbs and to do so, they had to overcome several hurdles. First, to create the potent Ayurvedic medicines as prescribed in the ancient times, the Narams needed to find highly concentrated herbal extracts (ghana) for a base. They insisted on this for

all their 350 herbal formulas. Thousands of years ago, herbs were more potent because the soil was more fertile. (there were no chemical fertilizers and no pesticides in use two thousand years ago!) So, maintaining authenticity for their herbs proved to be quite a challenge! Secondly, there was no uniformity in quality as suppliers had different benchmarks of quality. Therefore batches of the same medicine from herbal producers often varied in consistency.

All this prompted Dr. Smita Naram to go on a nationwide hunt ten years ago for an herbal ingredient supplier with the necessary concentrated extracts. Only a couple of suppliers measured up to her meticulous standards and these were chosen to be the certified suppliers for Ayushakti. Dr. Smita Naram began to order specific herbal ingredients from them in concentrated measures.

All of the Ayushakti herbal ingredients are carefully chosen, measured, and mixed according to ancient methods. The Ayushakti products are manufactured under the strict supervision of technically qualified personnel and tested for heavy metals, micro-organisms, and other international parameters according to authoritative health guidelines. Only ingredients carrying the Ayushakti quality seal are used. Ayushakti goes the extra mile to ensure quality control in manufacturing their wide array of authentic Ayurveda herbal remedies worldwide.
