Any food that you consume is processed and metabolized inside the body. The food is broken down by the digestive enzymes in different building blocks of the body like protein, carbohydrates, fats etc. What cannot be metabolized is eliminated by the liver. Protein and fats are very useful for the muscle building in the body. Carbohydrates are actually like the fuel for the body.

Any type of carbohydrate is broken into glucose or into simple sugar. The body uses glucose as the fuel, the excess of glucose is what is harmful to the body. So whatever you eat, if it’s a chocolate brownie or a bowl of sprouts, both end up becoming the same thing.

The problem is that glucose is toxic if it is in our system in the bloodstream. So the body’s antigens have a natural defence mechanism. Glucose which is not used is stored as glycogen in the liver.  This can be a good solution, but the body has limited storage of glycogen receptors. When they are full, and because of lack of activity there is no use of glycogen, it is converted into fat and it is stored in the body.

You might be thinking where does the insulin come in? It is coming in soon. So when the body senses glucose it releases a hormone called insulin, to initiate the storing of glucose a glycogen. So if the storage of glycogen is full, it can’t take any more glycogen. The pancreas interprets it as if the cells did not get the message, and it ends up pumping more insulin. In the meantime, cells are trying to become immune to the presence of excess insulin.  Excess of insulin in the blood is also not good for your health and they eventually allow the glucose to access your fat and the fat which is stored as sugar, gets into your bloodstream causing high blood sugar.

So one of the natural ways to counter diabetes is through diabetes treatment through Ayurveda as there many ayurvedic treatments for diabetes available in Mumbai and also all over India. There also many Ayurvedic medicines for diabetes which helps you control diabetes.

So Ayurveda is one of the most effective forms of diabetes treatment.
