“I came to know of the clinic through an accident. A friend of mine was very ill and she and her husband asked that if I just come and accompany them to India as they had never been here before and I have a deep fortune to travel here many times in the past. So, I arrived here in January 2001. And before I knew it, I started this process, which they call “Panchkarma”, which I was totally ignorant of. I remember my 1st couple of days of being here, Dr. Smita Naram, she said “It doesn’t take courage and do “Panchkarma”, it takes courage to come back and do “Panchkarma”. Now, I have an understanding of all that she meant.

Then, I started this process, which went on for about 4 weeks, which was actually quite short because I had time restrictions. I had to be back in Australia. So, I just went through the general “Panchkarma” which was leading up to Virechan then, post treatment after Virechan and it was quite an eye opener for me and I just fire a crack little bit here, in Australia, I had little bit of lower backache. And I thought so, this is bit strange but then I came to India with my friend and the backache? It began to intensify! And I thought ‘oh, I had this before and it was difficult for me to wait there. Until one day in my room when, I had been here merely for 10 days collapsed, I just collapsed on the floor. I could not wait there I could not stand up. Dr. Mehta came up and she took my pulse, she said,” What do you think is wrong in your back? I said,” I have no idea. May be I hurt a disc or something.” “No, you have 2 blocked nerves in your spine.” I said,” OH..O.K…” What she did know about point was that in 1975, I had a major, major surgery in my lower spine in which surgeon had inserted screws and metal plates in my spine. It was a difficult operation back in ’75. I was 20years old at that time.

When I was 46, I encountered this problem here. Anyway, once I saw Dr. Naram, it was night when I collapsed. He said in his normal flamboyant style, “Don’t worry, we will fix it.” “Yeah, yeah”, I thought,’ no worry’. So, he basically told me, “you take my treatment, you take my medicines, specially, Chaitanya Chintamani, for 6 months, you will never have this problem again.” It was January 2001, today is 2nd July 2005, I have never had this problem again. I did ask Dr. Mehta afterwards, “if, I hadn’t had big fortune to arrive here by an accident, what do you think, that would have happened to me in Australia or in U.K.?” She just shook her head and said “They would pretty much of have made a mess of you.” So that was a very good experience of this way of what whole this path of Ayurveda was about. And even though it’s only being 4 and half years, it has totally transformed my prospective on health.”

My experience with PanchKarma:

“I can only talk for myself. Bastis no problem, simple not a drama.Virechan, very challenging. Virechan itself is not so bad; afterwards it can be little bit unpleasant. Being there for only 24 hours, I feel the hardest part is the week before Virechan when you kick your slips, the oils. Fortunately, when I did “Panchkarma” I had pretty much done it of my own. I was certainly fate any couple, who were coming together in a relationship or sharing an accommodation, we were planning to do “Panchkarma”, to take advise. Because, it is certainly, so much tough comes up. Much tough comes out. It is not physical cleansing, so much is happening on so many other levels.

Last year, when I was here in June – July2004, I went through 5 or 6 days period, which started with silent criticism and I kept going on. “Oh! God!! I can’t believe how critical I am about everything. Then, it became dam right anger. I was so angry with everyone for no reason. I was just angry near for about 4 or 5 days whatever, everything changed and everything SHANTI, SHANTI. Again, I got back on my road.

But, fortunately, the people chat with other westerners, This Dr. Mehta, you know she is the Goddess. She just gets away of she does. So the people here help the guys here. It’s a part of process, its not be under estimated.

Anything that I would like to share:

I would like to just briefly share that before even I came here with my friends from Australia, my father had been quite ill in Ireland. He had broken his leg and he was 83 but taking him from hospital, typical English type hospital and he was in lot of pain in his leg and he could just hardly move. And I called a friend in Australia and I said,” Hey, What is happening to my dad? And she gave some instructions. She said me,” Why don’t you try this, I have learnt “No Oil Pindswed.” Then I had gone to Mumbai to buy various things from shops. Then in 3 weeks, I gently massaged his legs with herbs and also I had to make him some basic “Khichadi” and she also sent over some Dr. Naram’s tablet, he started taking immediately. Within 1 month, my father, the pain in his legs was completely gone and he was able to get out of his chair, unassisted with smile on his face. Kavita come from Nagpur and this is I think 15 years ago, when Kavita was doing Marma, self –confidence and was also taking the herbs, becomes very powerful. One day a accident happened in her life that she was kidnapped. Now this she could do her work and then she was kidnapped by some people. 1st she was very confused, very afraid, very fearful, did not know what to do and in 1 day she thought that the now if I cannot come out, I think I should die because, what kidnappers will do to her body, mind, emotions. She was really worried. But then suddenly, she said this is my fear, why should not I do some anti fear marma. She started with anti. How To Increase Your Immunity From 0 to 800?

This is the true story of a person whom I met. He has told me not to give his name so, I am keeping his name Sunil. Sunil was having HIV for many years. He was in Africa. In Africa, when he was going by a car, he got an accident. Now in this accident, he lost lot of blood. And then he was given blood transfusion in Africa. And then he comes to London. And suddenly he finds, his body is becoming weak, he is not able to walk properly. When he is walking, he is breathing high, lots of anxiety and than he goes and checks. Because of his weakness, he was hospitalized. And hospital told him that you have got HIV.(AIDS) and your immunity has gone very down. It seems quite a while since we were in Mumbai in January. A lot has happened since then. I went back to India in February, visited the clinic and then went to Goa for the month to rest and get some sun and sea. This was good for me and I stayed on a quiet beach and did nothing but rest, swim and eat (AyurvediHow a Hopeless Case in Germany (Munich) c food) occasionally walking along the sea shore looking at the dolphins jumping in the water. I worked on my doctorate thesis and felt good. On returning things were not good. London was cold and hectic and I felt absolutely terrible. I never felt so bad – totally lacking in energy, hardly able to move about. It was bad and I felt that I should go to the medication that my HIV doctors were trying to get me to take. I was beginning to lose hope in Ayurvedic medicine. I not only had no signs of improvement but I was beginning to feel worse and major symptoms had appeared showing a worsening of my condition. My doctors were saying that I nearly had AIDS. Kaposi's sarcoma tumours had appeared on my feet, arms and legs and that was frightening as well as night sweats, fungal infections, worsening of my skin condition, infections in my throat, chest and mouth as well as the serious decline in energy. My doctors were worried and told me awful horror stories about what would happen if I didn’t go on HAART medication immediately. So I had decided to start but wanted one more blood test. This actually showed an improvement with my CD4 up to 440 (330 in India) but viral load also up to 206000 (should be under 10000).

This, the CD4 count, was the first sign of improvement even if I did feel total crap. I saw Dr Naram in Paris and he was very encouraging and suggested that in fact the high viral was good in that he thought that it was coming down having reached a peck in India. Again an encouraging sign. Since then my energy has returned to a certain extent and I still haven’t started HAART and I feel there are signs of improvement with the KS. The KS specialist even suggested that I continue with the Ayurvedic treatment which was very supportive and unusual for regular doctors here. I m omitted to the Ayurvedic treatment and really believe in Dr Naram and all those supporting me. Beneficial Changeover
I first met with Dr Naram in the fall of 2001. It was a very difficult time for me. I was experiencing chronic bronchitis that I just could not shake and arthritic pain that would awaken me at night. I had all the classic symptoms of depression, both physically and mentally. I was sleeping quite a lot, had no energy and felt little pleasure from the daily activities of my life.

I had made a written list of my diverse complaints to tell the doctor. I sat down facing Dr Naram and immediately felt at ease. He gently took my hand to feel my pulse, and as he gazed into my eyes, I felt the beginning of a healing process.

Without my telling him anything, he went through my complete collection of complaints and infirmities. He jotted down the correct remedies to take and then smiled, satisfied and asked if he had missed anything. Indeed he had not.

Then it became an interesting challenge to cook delicious food that adhered to the restrictions but that would offer me some pleasure in cooking as well as eating. Within a few weeks, I felt the persistent depression begin to lift. Sleep resumed its normal patterns. My weight began to drop. The cough vanished and the arthritic pain was reduced to almost nothing. I would wake up each day ready for new adventures.

The Proper Diagnosis of Ulcer

Leaving Grief Behind
When I came to see Dr. Naram for the first time in California, I wasn’t able to focus very well. We’d had 5 deaths in our family within 5 years. I thought I was coping with all the tragedy and change – but I began to realize that although I managed to keep my mental composure, my emotional state wasn’t coping well at all. Neither had I really connected that the entire emotional trauma was throwing my body out of balance. I did notice that my immune system was weaker and I was developing quite a paunch. My digestion had gone haywire, too.

My sister urged me to see Dr. Naram, so I just tagged along. After the appointment, I gave myself to the treatment; I took the Ayushakti herbs regularly and followed the diet. Lo and behold, I found that my tiredness went away and my life began falling back into a natural rhythm. I had always said, “It would be so nice to follow the schedule of the birds – wake up at dawn and fall asleep when the sun goes down.” Since I’ve been on the diet and taking these herbs, I fall asleep at 8 or 9 pm and wake up at 3 am. When I wake up, I have so much energy.

Another simple thing I realized is that I was dehydrated and didn’t know it. I was so out of touch with myself. I used to drink soft drinks all the time, thinking I was putting water into my system. Since then, I’ve read in Ayurvedic books that those drinks were actually dehydrating me. In so many ways, my whole approach to life is changing.
