The best ayurvedic treatment for autism
Autism, a disease that affects a number of young children and stays with them till the end. Therefore, what is needed to deal with it, is Ayurvedic treatment. But, isn’t Ayurveda something that is usually cured simple diseases like the common cold, skin conditions and digestive problems. Well, if that is what you truly believe, then thou are thoroughly deficient in the amazing and ancient science of Ayurveda. Ayurveda can be used to cure almost all diseases that are known to man. Even the diseases that spring from the mind (psychological problems) are included in the treatment range of Ayurveda.
Autism treatment in Ayurveda is definitely possible. But, considering the discussion above, do you think Autism is a physical disease or a more mental one? Common sense would say that Autism is something that springs from the mind as its symptoms impair the mental, physical and functional skills of an individual. However, Autism also has its origin in the physical systems of the human body. The factors aren’t something that can be easily distinguished or classified into physical and mental factors. However, what can be said for sure is that Ayurvedic treatments address all these factors.
Autism results from the developmental aspects of the nervous system. A flaw in these aspects results in the individual suffering from Autism.
Following are some symptoms of Autism:-
- Inability to interact socially (the individual finds it difficult to respond to social conventions and stigmas)
- Verbal communication (speaking becomes a complicated task as it takes a lot more time for an Autistic person to communicate his/her point or opinion)
- Non-verbal communication (writing or typing becomes an arduous process as the individual struggles to choose the exact set of words that can convey the intended message)
- Restricted behaviour (actions and behaviour are restricted and often seem incomplete, making the individual stand out from the crowd)
- Repetitive behaviour (the person tends to repeat his words and actions which can be related to the brain needing to reaffirm the actions)
Ayurvedic treatment for autism helps the individual deal with the above-mentioned symptoms. A lot of parents, children, and adults go to a clinic that offers drugs and modern medicines that aim to pacify these symptoms. However, all that these medicines do, is keep the symptoms suppressed for a certain period of time. Eventually, these symptoms do resurface back in the individual’s body.
The symptoms that are mentioned above, are usually noticed in the children by their parents when they turn 2. These signs and symptoms don’t come all at once though. They form gradually in the individual. Sometimes, children seem to be showing normal growth and development. However, this development stops after a while and then regresses to the signs and symptoms. The child is then diagnosed with Autism. To diagnose the disease at an early stage, the symptoms would have to be seen before the child reaches the age of 3. Autism is also called Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Autism treatment in Ayurveda involves the number of different techniques such as massages, herbal treatments, diet and lifestyle changes, and at times, when necessary, counselling sessions with the patient. In the modern world, a lot of children are seen, suffering from Autism. There has been a rise in the number of Autism cases, as compared to the years before. This makes it absolutely essential that Autism is treated in an efficient and holistic way. The king of efficient and holistic health care, is, of course, Ayurveda. Ayurveda is the science of sciences, the ancient 5000-year old discipline that treats individuals based on their personal body constitution.
Ayurveda also deals with the issue of the mother’s health during pregnancy. According to Ayurveda, the wrong diet and lifestyle of the mother can result in the baby being affected by Autism. This is because Ayurvedic principles treat diet and lifestyle as the primary cause of imbalance in the body. If an individual’s diet and lifestyle aren’t up to the mark, it will lead to the formation of impurities or toxins in the body. As a result, the doshas of the individual gets affected and tend to shift out of balance. The moment this happens, the state of DISEASE begins.
