An Ayurvedic approach to Anti-Aging

According to data published by the American anti-aging organization, there are 9 parameters of aging-

  • Density of the bones
  • Strength of the muscles
  • Memory Power
  • BMR - metabolic rate (low BMR causes obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol).
  • Hormones - Thyroid and hormone balance over all
  • The immune system
  • Health of the liver
  • Health of the kidneys
  • Tone of the skin
  • Blood sugar metabolism
  • The metabolism of lipids

How does aging occur in our bodies?

Every day, millions of cells die and millions of new ones form in our bodies.  A slow aging process occurs if the new cells produced are equal to the number of cells dying. If the new cell generation is less than the number of dead cells, then aging takes place in your body.

How can you slow down the aging process by following a diet ?

In a daily diet, you should consume only proteins and vegetables, and only 20% of carbohydrates.

All toxic and inflammatory foods, including wheat and sour food, cause inflammation and bloating, causing your body to stop functioning normally.

It is beneficial to follow a mung and vegetable diet the following day to cleanse your system of toxins.

Daily regimen for people who wants to stay young and healthy. Follow this regimen after the age of 35-

Include these smoothie in your breakfast

  • 10 almonds
  • 4-5 walnut
  • 1 tablet spoon of sesame seeds
  • 2 dates.

All ingredients should be soaked overnight and eaten in the morning. Or you can make a smoothie and drink it.

Then, if you feel hungry, then you can have light foods like oats, mung chilla, Scrambled Tofu or Cottage Cheese (Paneer) etc.

One cup of milk is fine if you are able to tolerate it.

Fruits like papaya and watermelon can be eaten. Stay away from sour fruits which create acidity.

After 2 hours, you can have a juice made out of :

Carrot, beetroot, dudhi (bottle gourd), white pumpkin, pomegranate and amla (myrobalan).

This juice is high in antioxidants.  Antioxidants prevent you from aging and fight free radicals.

In the mid day time of Lunch, have proteins and vegetables with only limited carbs like fist size of cooked rice (4 tsp of rice) or one multigrain chapati made from jowar & bajra.

In the evening at 5 pm you can have one small bowl of puffed rice or fruits or vegetables.

At the time of dinner, take a full meal and make sure you go to bed after 2 hours of dinner.

Avoid all foods which create gas and bloating like raw salads, raw sprouts, wheat, milk.  You can take almond milk with ginger powder.

Regular intake of junk foods, spicy, fermented and fried foods, excess tea & coffee, no exercise etc. pile up toxins in your body drop by drop over years.  These toxic mucous circulate in the body through blood and create blockages, weakening the functions.

Why do you clean your tea cups or other after every use ?
