Fight Back Shingles (Herpes Zoster) Naturally With Ayurveda
Small fluid-filled blisters, also known as Shingles or Herpes zoster, resemble Chickenpox.
Herpes zoster or Shingles is also known as the secondary outbreak of Chicken pox.
The reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus is the cause of it. The virus typically remains dormant for decades in the body’s nervous system.
The virus may be able to travel along the nerves up to the surface of the skin under favorable conditions if the body’s immune response does not completely eradicate it. As you get older, your risk of getting shingles goes up.
Other potentially harmful complications of the nervous system, such as inflammation of the brain and spinal fluid, can result from shingles. Shingles on the face can cause hearing problems and, temporary or permanent blindness, loss of facial movements.
Blisters can cause bacterial skin infections if left untreated.
The condition lasts about seven to twenty days. It spreads through direct contact with fluid-filled blisters, not through coughing or sneezing.

Description of Shingles In Ayurveda
Shingles closely resemble a condition called Visarpa, which is described in Ayurveda. Visarpa is one of the most typical skin disorders, widely explained in detail apart from Kusthavyadhi by every Acharya. visarpa are present in the fifth vedinee skin layer. The visarpa-affected area is reddish in color, painful and itching sensation in that particular area; these symptoms are also present in Herpes zoster.
Herpes Zoster is an active transmitting viral disease causing painful skin rashes with blisters in localized areas.
As a society, we take better care of our cars, pets, and toys than we do ourselves.
We often sacrifice sleep, regular meals, and exercise to achieve our goals. We all weaken our immune systems when we don’t eat right, don’t get enough exercise or sleep, are exposed to environmental toxins, and are under too much or chronic stress.
Too often, we end up with an imbalance of doshas.
The impurity of pitta, along with that of blood, is the main causative factor for the pathology to appear.
Various factors like poor digestion, bad eating habits, eating lots of spicy or bitter food, etc., will affect the secretion of digestive juices and lead to improper digestion of food, which will give birth to Aam that causes impurity of blood.
This impurity of blood leads to the appearance of lesions on the skin.
Ayurveda Treatment For Shingles
Ayurveda compares it to the condition of Kaksha, which is caused by vitiated pitta and vata dosha. It is a condition of the nervous system brought on by pitta dosha.
Reddish, painful boils appear in the hands, armpit, shoulders, eyes, and wrist when the pitta dosha is aggrivated.
These eruptions occur in a single line that looks like the sacred thread yagyopaveet. Herpes generally occurs in one armpit.
At first, one or two boils and swelling, causing severe pain due to vata. In the beginning, a group of red and flat boils erupt, which soon convert into big boils.
